Beta Coat Women's is a waterproof, windproof, breathable shell jacket designed for hiking and trail use, built as an extended-length outer layer for protection from rain, snow, and wind.
Versatile: high performance for diverse activities and conditions.
For hiking and trail days, pair it with women’s hiking pants and a beanie .
The Beta Coat brings all-mountain protection with a lighter footprint and longer length. The PFAS-free GORE-TEX ePE fabric sheds wind, rain, and snow. Its recycled C-KNIT backer improves breathability, and the durable 80D face is made with 100% recycled nylon. Its length rides comfortably under a pack’s hipbelt and aligns with longer midlayers, an adjustable DropHood provides coverage with an integrated collar to protect the neck, and the two-way front zipper gives you freedom of stride.
What's been updated: Updated with a new, more durable GORE-TEX fabric offering PFAS-free weather protection, a more comfortable fit, and a longer length.
This product is free of intentionally added PFAS.
The new ePE membrane technology is lighter and thinner, but just as strong and durable as the materials we used before. You may notice the face fabric “wetting out” slightly faster in products with ePE membranes, but rest assured this does not affect the waterproofing of the membrane itself. If you notice the fabric wetting out faster than you’d like, simply wash the jacket and dry it to remove the oil contamination and bring the DWR back to its full power.

Layers are the instruments of keeping you dry, warm and using your energy efficiently. Put into the right systems, a good sequence of layers provides you with weather protection, moves moisture away from your skin, conserves or dissipates heat, and does this in the least amount of time.
Use the layering guide to select additional pieces for your system and understand how they fit together. Find out more about how to layer on our Layering Page.
