Women’s Hiking Shoes

Explore Women’s Hiking Shoes and Boots

Our women’s hiking shoes are designed for varied terrain, from creek crossings and slick rock to muddy trails and uneven paths. The Kopec hiking shoe is our hiker for fast, light travel on shifting terrain, in low-collar and mid-height versions, while the Vertex Alpine takes over for scrambles and technical approaches. Each section below takes one of those jobs.

Which women’s hiking shoes suit wet and muddy trails?

The Kopec GTX Shoe is a low-collar hiker designed for fast, light travel in wet and snowy conditions. Its GORE-TEX construction is made to seal out water and snow, and advanced lug geometry grips a range of surfaces while shedding mud. The CORDURA mesh upper has reinforced high-wear zones for durability, and a roomy toe box gives your forefoot space to splay. A women’s waterproof hiking jacket covers the rest of you when the weather turns.

Do Arc’teryx women’s hiking boots come with ankle protection?

The Kopec Mid GTX is listed as both a boot and a shoe, with the same mid-height collar. An articulated Ultralon moulded collar and tongue add support and protection without costing agility, and a moulded malleolus pad protects the ankle. Described as an all-season hiker for day hikes and minimalist multi-day treks, it suits rocky, rooty or loose ground. Pair it with women’s hiking pants that clear the top of the boot.

Which women’s trekking shoes suit scrambles and technical approaches?

The Vertex Alpine is a technical approach shoe that balances stability and grip with a light, fast build. Its sticky Vibram XS Flash 2 outsole is designed for edging and for grip in wet and dry conditions, the forefoot midsole carries a higher-abrasion component for scrambling, and a TPU shank and toe cap add stiffness and protection. A knit collar seals out debris, and the abrasion-resistant Matryx woven upper stays light and breathable.

Women’s Hiking Shoes FAQs

Does Arc’teryx offer lightweight hiking boots for women?

Yes. The Kopec line is designed for fast and light travel, and Arc’teryx describes the CORDURA mesh upper on the Kopec Mid GTX Boot as durable and light. The Kopec GTX Shoe is the lower-cut version of the same idea. For rockier days, the Vertex Alpine is a light, fast approach shoe with a TPU shank for stability.

What should I wear with women’s hiking shoes?

For wet-weather hikes we pair the Kopec GTX Shoe with a waterproof jacket and softshell pants. The women’s hiking jacket range covers lighter layers for dry days, women’s softshell pants stretch for scrambles and rock steps, and hiking socks finish the kit from the ankle down.

Is the Vertex Alpine a hiking shoe or an approach shoe?

It is a technical approach shoe designed for alpine travel, climbing, rock movement and hiking. Choose the Kopec for long walking days and the Vertex Alpine when the route includes scrambling. To compare the whole range, see women’s footwear, and for a lighter, faster pair try women’s trail running shoes.

How do I choose women’s hiking shoes?

Start with the ground. The low-collar Kopec GTX Shoe suits formed tracks, the mid-height Kopec Mid GTX adds ankle cover on rougher ground, and the Vertex Alpine suits scrambles. Then check fit: the Kopec has a roomy toe box, and Arc’teryx’s footwear guide says to size to your measured foot length, or half a size up for a roomier Comfort Fit.
